Jose Aldo Defeats Mark Hominick in a Classic Fight at UFC 129

In a classic fight before 55,000 fans at UFC 129 in Toronto, Jose Aldo dominated Mark Hominick for the better part of four rounds -- only to get dominated himself in the fifth and final round and hold on to win a surprisingly competitive unanimous decision.
Aldo retained his UFC featherweight title, but Hominick gained a huge amount of respect for the heart he showed, continuing to fight despite Aldo turning his face into a bruised, bloody mess.
"Take your hat off in congratulations to Mark Hominick," Aldo said after the fight. "He's a hell of a fighter, and he came out for five rounds, giving his all."
But while Hominick showed he was a hell of a fighter in the fifth round, Aldo definitely won the first four.

Cody McKenzie out of UFC 130 with injury, Gleison Tibau in against Bart Palaszewski

UFC lightweight Cody McKenzie has suffered an injury in training and is out of his bout with Bart Palaszewski later this month at UFC 130, and stepping up to replace him on short notice is Gleison Tibau.
The UFC announced the change to the lineup late Thursday night.
Tibau hops right back into the cage after a decision win over Kurt Pellegrino in late March at UFC 128. That victory was a bounce back win from a loss to Jim Miller that brought a halt to a two-fight win streak for the Brazilian. This bout will be his 14th fight inside the Octagon.
Palaszewski makes his first appearance in the Octagon, but he's no stranger to Zuffa. Palaszewski appeared seven times in the UFC's former sister promotion World Extreme Cagefighting, compiling a 4-3 record, including three straight wins in 2009 and 2010, one of those being against Anthony Pettis, who would go on to become the final WEC Lightweight Champion. His final appearance in the WEC came on the final WEC event ever, where he lost a questionable split decision to Kamal Shalorus.
UFC 130 takes place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 28, headlined by the Lightweight Championship rematch between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard.
Penick's Analysis: This is a big step up for Palaszewski from McKenzie here. Tibau, despite a number of losses in the UFC, is a good and very dangerous lightweight that has faced a lot of very good competition in his time in the organization. It's too bad for McKenzie, as this would have been a fun and competitive fight for him, but Tibau is a great replacement on short notice for the event.

Luckiest man in Canada lives out dream by putting belt on GSP
Dana White was clearly blown away by the passion of Canadian MMA fans in Toronto for UFC 129, so when one of them had a crazy request, the UFC president granted the UFC diehard his wish.
Yahoo! Sports' Eh Game was on the scene as Trevor Fitzgerald rolled the dice during White's Friday Q & A:
"After Georges St-Pierre beats down Jake Shields," Fitzgerald started, to immediate cheers. "Can I have the honour of the putting the championship belt around his waist?"
The question seemed to daze White for a moment.
"That's a tough request," the president said. "But [expletive] it, I'll do it."
The place erupted. Disbelieving fans could be heard shouting, "Are you kidding me?" And moments later, Fitzgerald was near the stage sharing his cell number with White's bodyguard so that they can set this whole thing up.
If you paid close attention seconds after Bruce Buffer belted out the results and wondered who the Kevin Smith look-a-like was in the Octagon, now you have your answer - just some fan who asked.
Fitzgerald may be the luckiest man in Canada. He was only at the event because he won a contest!
A father of two from Fort Frances, Ont., Fitzgerald asked his wife if he could go to UFC 129. The answer was no. Corrina, his wife reminded him that his five-year-old daughter Emily had a dance recital today.
Fitzgerald had one card left up his sleeve. He'd entered a UFC 129 trip giveaway at a local Boston Pizza. Guess what happened? Fitzgerald has his name pulled, won two tickets, a hotel room and airfare, and the wifey had to relent.

Randy Couture secure in his decision to retire after UFC 129 loss to Lyoto Machida

UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture has come to the end of his career, sent into retirement by a fantastic jumping crane kick from Lyoto Machida at UFC 129 in Toronto.
"The Natural" said prior to the fight that win, lose or draw the bout with Machida would be his last. Now that the fight has come and gone, Couture is content with that decision, and Saturday's result left him feeling secure in leaving the sport as an active fighter.
"There wasn't a sentimentality about it. There was kind of a sense of relief," Couture said on Sunday in comments made to Loretta Hunt at SI.com. "I felt like it was the right decision long before this and I felt more secure walking out that this is the right time and the right thing for me to be doing. There was no doubt in my head."
Machida's fight-ending kick caught everyone by surprise, and Couture said it wasn't anything he'd seen before, in practice or otherwise.
"It looked like he started to throw a front kick with his left leg and kind of jumped into that crane kick thing, which comes purely from karate," said Couture. "It wasn't anything I'd seen in practice ever. I don't think anyone's seen someone do that in an MMA fight."
"I thought it was a punch. With his front kick, he'll follow up with a punch almost at the same time. We were prepared for that, so I thought I'd missed that [combination]."
Because Couture has retired before, it will be hard for some to believe that he's actually done. However, Couture was emphatic that this was his last fight, and made it clear that, while the UFC may attempt to get him back, it's not in the cards.
"Definitely, it's the last fight," he said. "I know they're going to try to throw me something and get me to come back, but it's not going to happen."

Penick's Analysis: I fully believe Couture that he's done. He's got two movies lined up to begin filming later this year, and at 47-years-old it was clear on Saturday night that his time is over. Machida, 15 years his junior, was just on another level throughout, and hit him with a fantastic move not seen in the UFC before. Couture's mark on the sport has been made, and he'll have a place in the telling of UFC's history forever, but this 30th fight of his will be the last one, and I don't think the UFC will be able to convince him otherwise.

Usher To Donate Gadhafi Money To Charity
'I will be donating all of my personal proceeds...to various human rights organizations,' singer says of concert linked to Libyan dictator.

R&B superstar Usher announced Friday (March 4) that he was donating to various charities proceeds from appearing at a private event at St. Barts linked to Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi, according to a statement made to the Associated Press.
The Grammy award winner's renouncement comes after similar announcements from singers Mariah Carey, Nelly Furtado, and Beyoncé, all of whom were revealed to have performed at private concerts linked to the Middle Eastern leader, who has faced open revolt and major political uprisings since February.
"I am sincerely troubled to learn about the circumstances surrounding the Nikki Beach St. Bart's event that took place on New Year's Eve 2009," Usher said of the concert, at which he appeared alongside Beyoncé but did not perform. "I will be donating all of my personal proceeds from that event to various human rights organizations."
Usher has already begun the process, having made a donation to Amnesty International, the AP reports. The exact size of the donation is not known.
The New Year's Eve gig was reportedly for Moammar's fourth son Muastassim, who an unnamed music industry source told MTV News has a history of throwing lavish parties "jammed" with supermodels.
Beyoncé, who sang at the event, donated all proceeds from her performance to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund, established in the wake of the Haitian earthquake.
"All monies paid to Beyoncé for her performance at a private party at Nikki Beach St. Barts on New Year's Eve 2009, including the commissions paid to her booking agency, were donated to the earthquake relief efforts for Haiti over a year ago," the "Halo" singer's publicist said in a statement to The Huffington Post. "Once it became known that the third-party promoter was linked to the Qaddafi family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause."
Singer Nelly Furtado tweeted February 28 that she plans to make similar amends.
"In 2007, I received 1million$ from the Gadhafi clan to perform a 45 min. show for guests at a hotel in Italy," she tweeted. "I am going to donate the $."
The leader of Libya since a successful military coup in 1969, Gadhafi has reportedly lost control of much of his country as a result of widespread uprisings. The United Nations voted unanimously to refer the dictator to the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.

And we've got the inside deets on how Stacey almost caught a Player's Club style beat down from Ms. McCoy.

You already know two divas like Stacey Dash and LisaRaye McCoy--who have banked off their good looks to get mediocre roles after their primes--were going to butt heads at some point on the set of their new show.
The two "Single Ladies" have been fighting like catty teens on the set. And it's all Stacey's fault! Our inside source tells us it almost came to blows yesterday while filming. And now, the LisaRaye and Stacey are resorting to sticking notes on the doors of their dressing room trailers calling each other names. Lawd!
Here's the letter we received from our source on the tv show set:
I am an actress and I have the privilege of working on the set of "Single Ladies" which is a great new show coming to VH1 in May. The cast consist of Stacey Dash and LisaRaye. I have always been a fan of Stacey Dash but after being on set and seeing Stacey I have to say beauty means nothing after seeing how she acts. She's antisocial and mean. She doesn't speak to anyone and as soon as the scene is done she immediately takes off to her trailer until the next take.
I think she's a good actress but who knew her personality was so horrible! last night she and LisaRaye got into it big time. Now we all know that LisaRaye don't take no shit and while on set, Stacey Dash wasn't doing her part correct on set. When the director came to correct her (Stacey), and LisaRaye agreed, she stuck her hand up to her giving her the hand!!! Yes Girl! I just knew Lisaraye was going to to punch her ass like she did the girl in Player's Club! lol LisaRaye was cool about it but let her know to get her Mother Fucking hand out of her face!
Girl you should have been there! lol NO ONE seems to like her on set not to mention there was a note left on her door that proves what i'm saying...

Interestingly, tabloids are reporting that Stacey has indeed been wilin' out on set and refused at one point to not come back to the set unless LisaRaye "got her ass kicked":
Dash, 45, had a bit of a meltdown while filming a new show, Single Ladies, produced by Queen Latifah, according to Us Weekly. "No, I ain't coming back unless that b*tch gets her as* kicked!," Dash said this week as she ran off the set, referring to one of the show's other stars, LisaRaye McCoy.
A source told the magazine that the outburst was unexpected and unprovoked. "It was an intimate dinner party scene so everyone was in cocktail dresses," the source said. "Stacey was screaming and running around in thousand dollar Louboutins!"
Pretty definitely aint everything Stacey. But God surely doesn't like ugly....

Sheryl Crow Steps Out with Her New Man
Sheryl Crow stepped out on Wednesday night with her new boyfriend, musician Doyle Bramhall, in New York City. Crow and the guitarist (who also produced Crow's last album 100 Miles from Memphis) performed at the Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's spring ball at the Pierre Hotel, where the singer was "cozy and flirty with Bramhall throughout" the evening, the New York Post reports.
Crow, who'll be heading on tour with Kid Rock this summer, recently opened up about her new love. "Luckily we have a great foundation, having known each other for fifteen years," she said in last month's Prevention magazine cover story.
A breast-cancer survivor herself, Crow has been a tireless activist for the cause, even opening up a state-of-the-art breast cancer center.
The mom to adopted two sons, Wyatt, 3, and Levi James, 1, has said that she's careful when bringing Bramhall around her children. "I’ve been in the situation where I’ve been involved with people and their kids, and if the relationship doesn’t work out, it’s heartbreak," Crow told Prevention. "So I’m keeping the relationship friend-based when we’re around the kids."
Even with all of the attendant complications, Crow told Prevention that her new relationship is "really good", but she does admit to being "pretty set in my ways." "So I’m not looking at having a fifty-five-year relationship," she joked. "I’ll be happy if I have a ten-year relationship.”

Producer talks to Mixtape Daily about first single from Hell: The Sequel.

Behind the Beats: Supa Dups
Supa Dups already has quite an extensive résumé, and now he can add "Producing for Eminem" to it. The Miami-based reggae producer has already racked up tracks for Sean Paul, Buju Banton, Estelle, Akon and Bruno Mars. More recently, Dups and his Black Chiney production partner Jason "JG" Gilbert stepped into rap's arena, crafting the beat for Eminem and Royce Da 5'9"'s "Fast Lane," the first leak off of the duo's upcoming Bad Meets Evil album.
"Me and my partner JG: He and I made the beat together. We just wanted to make a beat with just our mouths," Dups said, humming the melody to "Fast Lane."
Sampling their own vocals proved to be genius when Em chose the beat for Bad Meets Evil's Hell: The Sequel EP, which drops June 14 on Shady Records. "We didn't even have Eminem in mind [when we made the beat]," Dups explained. "We just had the track and submitted it off to 50 Cent, Nicki Minaj and a couple of others. But Eminem, when we heard he wanted it, we were like, 'Cool, we'll hold it. That's Eminem.'
"I didn't even know the project was coming out. I didn't know what the beat was for; I just knew Eminem asked me for the files and I sent it to them," he continued. "When I saw Eminem in L.A. for Grammy weekend, Eminem said, 'Yeah, he ripped the track.' Later on that day, I met Royce, and Royce was like, 'Yeah, download that track man. We ripped that track. That's the first single.' I was like, 'What?' But until then, I still wasn't sure."
Dups might not have been present for the recording of the track, but when he first heard it with the rest of the hip-hop heads, when it leaked onto the Internet in April, he was impressed. "I was like, 'Damn, this record is crazy,'" he recalled. "It's one of the craziest hip-hop records I've heard in a while lyrically — where they're just spittin'."
Supa Dups gave props to the pair: "I think both of them went hard," he said. "I'm just glad to be on the track."

The first five episodes of Season 13 of The Ultimate Fighter featured fights that were generally not very compelling. Episode 6 changed things. With two exciting fights that both ended in the first round, Episode 6 provided the best fights of the season so far.In this week's interview with Ultimate Fighter cast member Ramsey Nijem, we got his thoughts on being in the gym to see the two fights live. We also got Nijem's opinion of his coach, Junior dos Santos, kicking Lew Polley off the team, and on the UFC 129 main event, which saw Nijem's training partner Jake Shields lose to Georges St. Pierre.

Sam Claflin Feels 'Lucky' To Be Kristen Stewart's Prince In 'Snow White'
'I'm truly sort of flabbergasted,' the 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' actor says of his next role.

Ever since it was announced that "Twilight" superstar Kristen Stewart had signed up to play yet another beloved character, Snow White, in "Snow White and the Huntsman," her rabid fans have been eagerly anticipating news of who would play her Prince Charming. The lucky man is British actor Sam Claflin, whom you will soon see in the upcoming blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."
When MTV caught up with Claflin and his "Pirates" co-star Astrid Berges-Frisbey recently, we asked the young actor about working with Stewart.
"I'm very excited," he said. "I'm a big fan of her work. I'm truly sort of flabbergasted — that's a good word, I love that."
"She's lucky," Berges-Frisbey chimed in about Claflin.
"No, I'm very lucky," Claflin said with a smile. "Very, very lucky."
"They are really lucky [to have him]," Berges-Frisbey continued. "Because Sam is such a good actor and such a good partner. He's really generous."
"I'm just looking forward to getting my teeth into something new as well," Claflin said. "I've never had so much fun [as I did] doing ['Pirates'], working with Astrid and all the other actors. Being able to get my teeth into something new is something I'm really looking forward to."
Based on the legendary fairy tale, "Snow White and the Hunstman" follows the titular princess after the evil queen Ravenna calls for her death, centering on the huntsman who disobeys orders and allows the fair maiden to live. The updated story will break from convention by having the huntsman mentor and train Snow White to fight off Ravenna herself. The evil queen will be played by Charlize Theron, and the search is on for a new huntsman — the current rumored contender being "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth.

Nicolas Cage Escapes Prosecution for New Orleans Kerfuffle
Despite engaging in a screaming match with his wife, banging on cars and running from police during a night of drunken mayhem last month, Nicolas Cage will not be prosecuted.
"The New Orleans District Attorney has confirmed that no charges of any kind will be pursued against him," Cage's attorney Harry Rosenberg tells People. "After their investigation, the DAs refused all charges against Nick and the matter has been closed."
The actor, 47, had been arrested on charges of domestic abuse and disturbing the peace while in New Orleans to film a movie. After a night out, Cage got into a loud argument with his wife after insisting that the home they were standing in front of was indeed the house they were renting. It wasn't.
Police said he later grabbed his wife's arm and pulled her a few doors down. An intoxicated Cage then starting hitting cars and, after initially starting to get into a police car that had been flagged down, instead ran a block away and tried to get into a cab, according to reports.
Despite the troubled actor's antics, prosecutors apparently did not have enough to make a case this time.
"We are pleased that the process led to the correct result, despite inaccurate media reports, and that Nick has been cleared and all charges have been dropped," Rosenberg said.
So, Cage may be getting off scot-free. But his drunken behavior, the argument over his true whereabouts and the woman with a baby in her arms who witnessed the bizarre scene and cried out to Cage, "Please don't hurt us," could all be a plotline from a diabolical caper movie -- especially now that he faces no prosecution.
But seems like with Nicolas Cage these days, truth is indeed stranger than fiction.

Dana White plans on meeting with Nick Diaz after UFC 129 to discuss MMA future and boxing

Earlier this month Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nick Diaz went on a rant about not seeing a future for himself in the sport and his feeling that he's not paid enough for what he's doing in the sport. In addition, his head trainer and manager Cesar Gracie let it be known that they were looking to have Diaz's next fight be in boxing in 2011.
UFC President Dana White said on Wednesday he plans on meeting with Diaz after this weekend's UFC 129 event in Toronto to discuss the contentious welterweight's next move.
"What I'm going to do is I'm going to sit down Nick," White said. "I like the Diaz brothers. I'm going to sit down with him and figure out what he wants to do."
"I'm going to sit down with Nick Diaz, literally, after this fight and try to figure out what's next for him."
White confirmed that Diaz is within his contractual rights to take a fight in boxing, saying matter-of-factly, "It's in his deal that he can do it, absolutely."
White's goal is to figure out what Diaz is attempting to gain with the talk of moving to boxing, and wants to figure out a way to make things work with the often hot-headed and erratic Strikeforce Champ. With him being in Toronto this weekend in support of his brother Nate, who fights on Saturday's card, White's hoping to get things taken care of in short order.
"For the last 10 years, I've dealt with the craziest, the cruelest, the baddest, the this, the that, and I've always tried to make everybody happy," said White. "You can't make them all happy, but you can try."
Penick's Analysis: I think this is all going to depend upon how important Diaz winds up being in the UFC's eyes. If they feel they really want him to be in either the Strikeforce cage or inside the Octagon, they'll make a few concessions for him and find a way to make him happier than he is in order to get him back in the cage. If they feel he's being unreasonable or becomes too much of a hassle to deal with than they won't make those same concessions and it will be a different situation entirely. There's no way to know how things will work out when they do talk, if it even actually does happen this weekend, but hopefully a few weeks removed from his last fight Diaz will be in a better state of mind about the whole situation. Fans just want to see him fight, and they want to see him fight in the arena in which he's wowed them many times over. That's not the boxing ring.

Kennedy interview: Army Special Forces/MMA fighter gives insight on the bin Laden mission
There aren't many of us who understand what really went into the� Osama bin Laden kill. Tim Kennedy is one of those unique Americans who've been in the middle of an intense international man hunt. As a Special Forces Army Ranger, Kennedy served tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. While awaiting his return to active duty, he's embarked on a pretty successful MMA career with Strikeforce.
Kennedy joined me on ESPN1100 in Las Vegas to give us some insight on what went down and how he feels about some people questioning the tactics of the military.
Many people were angered by the fact that bin Laden's body was dumped at sea. Americans with an eye-for-an-eye mentality certainly won't see video of the kill, and there won't be official photos to view. Kennedy doesn't understand why those things would be necessary.
"If somebody hurt my family, I wouldn't want to sit there and watch that guy executed. I would just want to know that justice was done," Kennedy said (7:45 mark).
Kennedy also countered fear-mongering media members who think bin Laden's death means the U.S. is cutting back in its pursuit of terrorists around the world.
"This isn't even the beginning of the end. This is an opportunity for us to really catch them while they're scrambling," Kennedy said. "If anything it's going to stir up more reaction and more fanatics. Right now it's just as dangerous as it's ever been."
As far as his MMA career, Kennedy reiterated that he wants a fight with Robbie Lawler. He mentioned the Fedor Emelianenko-Dan Henderson card proposed for the Chicago area in late July.

MMATorch Exclusive: Pablo Garza on surreal UFC 129 experience, flying triangle sub over Yves Jabouin and proving himself in the UFC

UFC featherweight Pablo Garza stepped into the Octagon on Saturday night in the Rogers Centre as one of the first two fighters to experience the atmosphere of a UFC event in front of a stadium audience, and he made the most of it, pulling off a flying triangle submission over Yves Jabouin. That move would hold up as the night's "Submission of the Night," sending the 27-year-old back home to North Dakota with an extra $129,000 in bonus money from the UFC.
Just a few days removed from the card, Garza says he still can't process the experience he had at the Rogers Centre on Saturday, and he's not sure anything will ever match it.
"No [I still haven't been able to process what happened]. It's still kind of settling in," Garza told MMATorch on Tuesday night during the weekly MMATorch Livecast at BlogTalkRadio.com/MMATorch. "I never expected anything like this to happen. I think it's going to take a month or so. Even right now I'm looking back at it, and I can't believe I did what I just did. It's still surreal to me."
"The whole environment and experience and everything was surreal. It was something that I've never gone through and something I probably won't ever go through in a long time... I don't have any words for it, it was just surreal. It was awesome."
Garza's two fights in the UFC have resulted in spectacular finishes that earned him bonus money from the organization, knocking out Fredson Paixao at The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale in December and then submitting Jabouin on Saturday. That puts him at 2-1 under the Zuffa banner, with his only career loss thus far coming against Tie Quan Xiang in the WEC in a fight he took on five day's notice.
"I just feel lucky and blessed that everything's going the way it is," Garza said. "It's only my second fight in the UFC, so everything's going really well. I couldn't have asked for a better start in the UFC... What a lot of people don't know is, before the Tie Quan fight, I had actually just got done having a fight. I had a fight 17 or 18 days before that fight and I had a fight once a month for four months straight, then I took the Tie Quan fight, the [Fredson] Paixao fight and the Yves fight.
"So I've been going at it strong, I guess, for awhile, but with that I guess I'm lucky my two previous fights have gone the way they have. Short fights, get them done, in and out, so it's been good. [I've had] no injuries throughout the last seven or eight months with that."
Garza's activity has allowed him to build up his record and put together some good performances, but after taking five straight fights since August of last year, Garza's ready to take a little time out before he gets back into the cage again.
"I think I'm looking to take some time off, just because I've had so many fights in a row that I was [just] training for each fighter; [I was training for] a specific person rather than training new things to get better," he said. "I need to take time to get better and evolve. And then also I've got a bunch of family stuff going on; I'm engaged now and I'm gonna get married so I'm probably going to take some time off and get all of that done first."
Garza trains out of The Academy of Combat Arts in Fargo, North Dakota, an affiliate gym of The Academy in Minnesota, which is home to UFC lightweights Sean Sherk, Nik Lentz and Jacob Volkmann. Garza also spends time during his fight camps in Minnesota, taking advantage of the greater variety of training partners at the Academy in all aspects of the game to prepare for his fights, and while he's shown a great ability to nab submissions and knockouts alike, Garza believes his overall game gives him an edge against his opposition.
"I think that my strength lies in the fact that I'm a really well-rounded fighter; that I'm not a jiu jitsu ace and I'm not a striking phenom, I'm [good] all around and I believe that my skills are good everywhere," he said. "So I think that is going to provide - and has provided - the biggest problem for my opponents."
Just eight months ago, Garza was fighting in front of a small crowd in North Dakota, and to go from that to a few thousand fans in his first couple of fights with Zuffa to the audience he fought in front of on Saturday night has been a massive jump for him.
"[Those shows are] at two different ends of the spectrum," Garza said. "Even the Paixao fight was probably the biggest crowd I've ever fought in front of at The Ultimate Fighter Finale. It was probably 5,000 [people] maybe. Same with my WEC fight. Going from a crowd of 4,000, maybe 5,000 people to 55,000 people, it's a huge jump; there were so many [fans] in such a big arena it felt so surreal to me and my mind couldn't comprehend how big it was. When I was in there I was just living in the moment."
To be the first to step out in front of that type of audience was one thing, but to set the stage for the rest of the historic night with his spectacular flying triangle was even better. But it didn't just come out of nowhere, and Garza said it's a move he's pulled off before, just not in a fight.
"[The flying triangle] is actually something that I've done before. I've actually done that a few times in a few jiu jitsu tournaments," he said. "Believe me, it's a lot easier to do when you're grabbing onto a gi and flying up in the air. But it's something that I've done in class where, after jiu jitsu class me and a couple training partners will stick around after and just practice dumb stuff and just stuff like that. But yeah, I have done it before, it wasn't just something where I said 'I'll just try a flying triangle here,' I have done it before."
When he does get back into action, he's not concerned with who his opponent might be, as he feels he's in the stage of his career where he's still got a lot to prove.
"I'm just so new to the UFC right now. Rather than call anybody out, I'm just trying to prove that I belong in the UFC," he said. "That's my main goal."
"A lot of people think that getting to the UFC is really hard, which it is, but once you're in the UFC, staying in the UFC is the really hard part. That's all I'm trying to prove right now is that I belong, and that I belong in the UFC, and I think I've proved that so far."

Justin Bieber Vintage Video: His First Meeting With Usher
Justin Timberlake also wanted to sign Bieber, 'Never Say Never' star said in 2009.

Just as the world was learning who Justin Bieber was, MTV News caught up with the shaggy-haired singer in September 2009. He was gearing up to release his debut album, My World, and plotting his pop-world domination. In the year and a half since that interview, Bieber has done the nearly impossible, launching himself into the pop mega-sphere.
In the chat, Bieber recalled how he and his manager, Scooter Braun, met and eventually got big names interested in signing the teen.
"My manager found me on YouTube. He flew me out to Atlanta for the first time — I'd never actually been on a plane before. He flew me to Atlanta where i was going to the studio to meet some people," he recalled.
"And Usher happened to roll up in his Range Rover. I ran up to him, and I was like, 'Usher, I love your songs. Want me to sing you one?' The politest possible way he could say no, he did. ... I took the hint. I didn't get to sing for him: He had to run into a studio session."
But later, Usher was beckoning the teen back to the ATL. "He actually watched my videos — after my manager got to talking to him — and was like, 'I should have let this kid sing,' and flew me back to Atlanta where I got to sing for him in a proper setting. A week later, I had a meeting with Justin Timberlake, who also wanted to sign me, so they both kind of wanted me."
As the story goes, Bieber went with Usher, and the two never looked back.
"As far as Usher being my mentor, he's definitely given me words of wisdom. I hear it from everybody, but definitely to hear it from Usher is great, just to stay humble and grounded is very important," he explained.
"There's a lot of people, especially young stars, that have gone down the wrong path, and I definitely plan to stay humble and stay grounded and keep my family first, because that stuff really is important in life."
On Friday, Justin Bieber's 3-D documentary, "Never Say Never," opens. The film takes a look at how the teen star worked to hit it big. MTV News has been chatting with him along the way, from the time he first burst on the scene in 2009 until now, as he embarks on a huge 2011 that will include a tour and more new music.

Lentz vs. Oliveira, Grant vs. Riddle added to UFC on Versus 4 card in Pittsburgh

The UFC has added two more fights for this June's UFC on Versus 4 event in Pittsburgh, as they announced on Wednesday a lightweight bout between Nik Lentz and Charles Oliveira and a welterweight bout between T.J. Grant and Matt Riddle for the event.
Lentz is coming off his most exciting win in the UFC, a come-from-behind submission over Waylon Lowe at UFC Fight Night 24. The win moved his unbeaten streak to 14 fights, with a 5-0-1 mark inside the Octagon.
Oliveira looks to bounce back from the first loss of his career, suffered at the hands of top contender Jim Miller at UFC 124 in December. The kneebar submission loss halted a 14-fight winning streak to kick off his career, highlighted by exciting submission wins over Darren Elkins and Ultimate Fighter season eight winner Efrain Escudero in the UFC.
Grant has alternated wins and losses since joining the UFC in 2009, and looks to bounce back from a loss yet again in this fight with Riddle. The most recent loss came to Ricardo Almeida at UFC 124 in Decemeber, and he'll look to avoid losing two straight for the first time in his career.
Riddle as well looks to bounce back from a decision loss at UFC 124, his to debuting welterweight Sean Pierson. The Ultimate Fighter season seven veteran has fought all of his career fights in the Octagon, going 5-2 since his debut in 2008.
UFC on Versus 4 is headlined by a welterweight bout between Nate Marquardt and Anthony "Rumble" Johnson, and takes place from the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Penn. on June 26.

WATCH: Tina Fey & Amy Poehler Go Jersey on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'
If Snooki and J-WOWW are looking for tan-loving new BFFs, they might think of calling Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. The funny ladies convincingly morphed into hair extension-wearing, cleavage-baring guidettes in the digital short Jersey Floor on Thursday's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
In the skit, the talk-show host took an elevator ride to 30 Rockefeller Plaza's magical floor where everyone steps off and becomes transformed into Jersey Shore-inspired alter egos. Fallon looked a lot like a Pauly D-Situation hybrid while SNL alum Rachel Dratch appears to be Snooki (though she's called Drootchie) and SNL actress Abby Elliott is a Sammi doppelganger named Abby Lovebug. With their eyes swimming in bright blue eye shadow, Poehler and Fey become stalkers a la the "grenades" who populate Pauly D and the crew's club life on Jersey Shore. "I wanna make babies with you," Fey shouted at Fallon while shaking her booty while Poehler tells a guy, "Let's have a relationship." Within seconds, the men are running for the exits.
Fey and Poehler also got the catfighting part down. Punching, cursing and yanking hair extensions in a tussle with Dratch's Drootchie, Fey screams, "I will punch you in the tit!" Good one.
Too bad everyone can't have a Jersey Floor in their office buildings. Talk about an interesting coffee break!

The first five episodes of Season 13 of The Ultimate Fighter featured fights that were generally not very compelling. Episode 6 changed things.
