According to a report from TSN.ca, the UFC sold more than 42,000 tickets to the Rogers Centre event - which was their entire initial allotment for the night's layout - during Thursday's UFC Fight Club presale.
"To say the response was overwhelming would be an understatement," said Tom Wright, the UFC's director of Canadian operations.
"In less than an hour we were pretty well down to some singles (tickets)."
The UFC is making more tickets available for the event for their newsletter subscribers on Friday and the general public on Saturday, and the overall attendance for the event could be well over 45,000 fans, though Wright said they would be "pushing it" at 50,000.
The UFC's previous attendance record was 23,152 for December's UFC 124 event from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This event may double that record.

Penick's Analysis: It's incredible, but not surprising, that they were able to sell so many tickets on the first day. Of course, a lot of people will be re-selling them and trying to make a massive profit, and some already have, but it's going to be a massive amount of people in the Rogers Centre for an MMA event regardless. The 3D model the UFC used for the ticket sale today was a cool new tool for fans to see what they've got to look forward to. This event is going to be huge, and this is a good sign for the draw of this first event in Toronto.
